Abstract

Proposals for interplanetary travel abound. Their common shortcoming is they rely on the intervention of major new technologies, like warp drives and teleportation. These, in turn, often rely on new laws of physics that would admit, for example, interdimensional travel and antigravity. This paper lists some of the far-out prospects more widely accepted by, believe it or not, professional scientists, and highlights their shortcomings.
