William P. Harrison, Jr. presented a 1979 paper at the UNSTAR Conference on Long-Term Energy Resource, Montreal, Canada, November 26-December 7, 1979, entitled "The Permanent Magnet Motor" on the Howard Johnson patents. Harrison worked at the Engineering Fundamentals Division of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
