David G. Yurth (born 1945) is an American inventor, technology-development consultant and author associated with the New Energy and dissident-science communities. He serves as Director of Science and Technology for the Nova Institute of Technology, LLC, a research firm he co-founded in Salt Lake City, Utah. Yurth is best known for his writings on "scalar physics," self-organizing systems and consciousness, and for a large portfolio of prototype technologies in the fields of energy, emissions control and nuclear-waste remediation. His theoretical work falls outside the mainstream scientific consensus.
Biography
Yurth received a B.A. in Literature in English from Weber State University and an MBA in Organizational Leadership from Capella University, and has undertaken doctoral study in International Business. His professional career has centered on technology development, invention management and management consulting, with an emphasis on industry networking, technology analytics and research.
Outside of his technical work, Yurth has served on the boards of directors of the Utah Cancer Society, United Way, and Girl Scouts of America, and as President of the Salt Lake Exchange Club. Under his leadership the Salt Lake Exchange Club was the first Exchange Club in the United States to adopt the Child Abuse Prevention Program later used as a model by Exchange Club chapters worldwide. He worked with Bonneville International and others to help create the Utah Chapter of the Special Olympics, and later co-sponsored and served as a trustee for the Injured Worker's Association of America. He resides in Holladay, Utah.
Work
Yurth's professional focus has been in technology development, invention management and system integration. He has invented or co-invented a large number of technology-based integrations and devices, among them the X Chip (a television program content filter), the Guayule Rubber Latex Commercialization Process, the Dialog Language Replacement System, a Wireless Video Conferencing System, the PageTurn computer display system, a Non-linear Communications System, a Collective Ion Accelerator System (for treating radioactive nuclear waste), Electronically Shaded Glass, the FloatFisher personal watercraft, the SREV (Self-Recharging Electric Vehicle), and the V-Car Personal Aerial Vehicle.
Much of this work has been carried out through the Nova Institute of Technology, which describes itself as having designed, developed, fabricated and tested hundreds of technologies. Among the projects Yurth is credited with is the Corona Discharge Gas Plasma Disassociation System, a device intended to break down internal-combustion exhaust emissions by plasma-induced molecular dissociation. He has also worked as a scientific peer reviewer and editor for several publications and as a consultant and project manager for prototype-development groups in the United States, Eastern Europe, Australia and Ecuador.
Scientific contributions
Yurth is the author of numerous books, screenplays and scientific papers and monographs. His books Seeing Past The Edge: A Cosmology and Y-Bias and Angularity: Self-Organizing Criticality From the Zero Point to Infinity set out what he terms a new model of scalar physics. In this "Y-Bias" model, the cosmos is described as arising from information, operating through a perpetual cycle of self-organization and catastrophic annihilation across all scales, from the physical vacuum to the largest structures of the universe. Seeing Past The Edge additionally addresses the relationship between the physical world and consciousness, proposing that material phenomena arise from a unified causal plane he identifies with consciousness.
These ideas, together with his associated work on zero-point energy and torsion fields, are situated within the New Energy and self-organizing-systems currents of dissident science and are not accepted within mainstream physics. His other writings include The Ho Chi Minh Guerilla Handbook: A Strategic Guide to Innovation Management and works on personal development such as The Pyramid of Agendas, Now Is The Perfect Time, The Island of My Life and the memoir Sliding Home.
