"The Power of URL to Delineate the Cosmos" is a 2010 conference paper and presentation by Satya Pal Asija, delivered in the Natural Philosophy Alliance setting. In it Asija introduces what he calls the "URL" — the Universal Relationship Law — and argues that it is "comparable in scope to Newton's UGL (Universal Law of Gravitation)" as a tool for understanding the universe.

The title is one of Asija's characteristic puns. "URL" is borrowed from the web address ("as my URL is still the same OurPal.com", he notes elsewhere), but here it stands for his Universal Relationship Law, part of the larger philosophical system he calls One Reality.

What the "URL" is

In Asija's scheme the Universal Relationship Law rests on the existence of an absolute space and a preferred state of motion. He defines a quantity Vn — a "Normal Earth Velocity in absolute space", which he puts at about 0.00125c — and divides all motion into two regimes:

  • Range I — velocities from 0 up to Vn
  • Range II — velocities from Vn up to the speed of light c

He proposes simplified formulas for the Lorentz gamma factor in each range, and treats the URL as a "ratio of ratios" correction that, he claims, resolves what he regards as an internal inconsistency in special relativity between length contraction and mass increase.

The central argument

The body of the paper is a matrix of verdicts on who was right and who was wrong about how bodies of different mass move and fall, evaluated separately in the two velocity ranges. In compressed form, Asija's claims are:

  • In Range II (from Vn to c), Aristotle and Einstein are both wrong, Galileo "and everybody to date" also wrong, and the URL correction applies.
  • In Range I (from 0 to Vn), Aristotle and Einstein are "inadvertently, unintentionally right," Galileo and everybody wrong, and the URL correction again applies.
  • Galileo — and all who still agree with him that light and heavy bodies fall at the same rate in vacuum — is held to be wrong in both ranges, while "Our Pal" (Asija's name for himself) is right in both because of the URL correction.

Asija offers "hints of evidence" on each side: for his position that lighter bodies go faster in Range II he cites the behaviour of particles in accelerators near c, the faster orbital motion of smaller particles in Saturn's rings, and the faster swing of a shorter or lighter pendulum; for the opposing "Aristotle–Einstein" position that heavier bodies fall faster he cites Newton's second law and the fact that a lower orbit is a faster orbit regardless of mass. He adds a playful logical "flip/flop" rule — that reversing any one of several paired terms (for/against, faster/slower, lighter/heavier, Range I/Range II) inverts the conclusion, with an even number of reversals cancelling out.

He is careful to state one methodological point plainly: "our inability to measure a small effect is neither evidence for nor against" any of the three positions — Aristotle–Einstein, Galileo, or his own.

Assessment

This paper is best read as a specimen of Asija's "One Reality" system rather than as a self-contained physical result, and it should be assessed in that light.

Its framework is openly heterodox in a way worth stating clearly. The URL is built on an absolute space and a privileged Earth velocity Vn — a revival of the pre-relativistic absolute frame that special relativity was constructed to do without. That premise connects to Asija's wider commitments: he took part in geocentric conferences (see his "First Annual Catholic Geocentric Conference Report"), and describes the URL in theological and anthropocentric terms — "God's Universal Relationship Law," a cosmos that is "anthropic, anthroptimum, omnicentric and anthropocentric." The reader should know that these are the foundations, because the paper's verdicts about Aristotle, Galileo and Einstein follow from them rather than from any new measurement.

The claims do not survive contact with the standard physics they mean to correct. Galileo's result — that in a vacuum all bodies fall with the same acceleration regardless of mass — is among the most thoroughly confirmed facts in physics, from the Eötvös experiments to lunar laser ranging to the 2017 MICROSCOPE satellite, which verified it to about one part in 10¹⁵; the claim that Galileo is "wrong in both ranges" is not tenable. The alleged inconsistency in special relativity between length contraction and mass increase is not an inconsistency: both are consequences of the same Lorentz transformation and are routinely confirmed together in particle accelerators, the very evidence Asija invokes. And a "correction" that changes its verdict depending on which absolute range a body occupies reintroduces exactly the preferred frame that the null ether-drift results removed.

What the paper does offer is a clear, self-consistent — and unusually good-humoured — statement of one man's cosmology. Asija is not a crank in the ordinary sense: he is a professional engineer and the patent attorney behind the first software patent, and his physics is an avowed avocation, presented with wordplay and candour rather than false rigour. His insistence that an unmeasurable effect proves nothing either way is a sound instinct. But the URL as a rival to Newton's law of gravitation is a philosophical and theological construction, not an established or testable correction to physics, and the honest reading is that its verdicts against Galileo and Einstein rest on redefinitions and an absolute frame that the evidence does not support.
