==Background==
Lepadatu graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Bucharest and later became a senior researcher at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Romanian Academy, working in quantum (theoretical) chemistry, coordination chemistry, molecular spectroscopy and magnetism. He is listed as a member of the Romanian Humboldt Club.

==Ideas==
Alongside his conventional chemistry research, Lepadatu has published on the foundations of physics in non-mainstream venues. His paper "Quantum Theory as a Space-Time Theory" appeared in the ''Journal of Theoretics''. In related work, "The Gravity as a Longitudinal Field" (2004, with Serban Lepadatu), he argues that the wave equation for massless particles admits a longitudinal vector-potential solution which, interacting with rest-mass particles, yields a potential energy identical in form to Newtonian gravitation. These proposals — treating gravitation as a longitudinal field and deriving quantum structure from space-time geometry — lie outside the accepted framework of quantum mechanics and general relativity.
