==Abstract==

It is shown that the historical Ampère bridge experiment and its rotational variation realized by the present author seem to violate the principle of relativity. The rotating Ampere bridge represents an electromotor without stator, because it rotates under the action of internal forces thus violating Newton's third law. Nevertheless, back tension is induced at its rotation in contradiction with the relativistic concepts, according to which tension can be induced only if there is mutual motion between ?magnet? and ?wire.? Quantitative predictions of the induced back tension are done, and the experimental confirmations of these predictions are presented.
