'''Abhijit H. Wagh''' is a co-author of work proposing an explanation of the Michelson–Morley experiment that does not rely on special relativity. He is listed in ''[[The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists]]''.

==Work==
With Sanjay M. Wagh, he wrote the paper "Explaining Michelson–Morley without Special Relativity" (arXiv:1009.1883, 2010). The authors introduce what they call an "emission wave", which they present as a previously unrecognized way in which transverse waves are realized in nature. They argue that light behaves as such an emission wave, propagating without a pre-existing medium and with a speed that is invariant across reference frames.

On this basis the authors claim that the null result of the Michelson–Morley experiment follows naturally, without invoking the length contraction and time dilation of special relativity. This interpretation lies outside the mainstream account, in which the Michelson–Morley result is explained within the framework of special relativity.
