'''Alberto Mesquita Filho''' is a Brazilian author and independent researcher who writes on physics, the history and philosophy of science, and science education. He maintains the Portuguese-language site ''Espaço Científico Cultural'' (ecientificocultural.com) and has published numerous essays online and in print. He is listed in ''[[The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists]]''.

==Work==
Mesquita Filho's writing centres on foundational questions in mechanics and electromagnetism. He examines the concept of absolute motion within Newtonian physics, argues for reconsidering the interpretation of the Michelson–Morley experiment (including possible first-order effects), and questions aspects of Einstein's equivalence principle and the "double nature" attributed to the electromagnetic wave. In place of a purely wave picture he proposes fields permeated by real particles. These positions lie outside the accepted framework of modern physics.

He has also written on the history and philosophy of science, including studies of concepts of space in Aristotle. His essays appear on ''Espaço Científico Cultural'', on grupoescolar.com, and on the science-fair site feiradeciencias.com.br, and a number of his works are catalogued by Brazilian booksellers.
