'''Alexandar Nikolov''' is an author of alternative-physics papers known for his critical re-examination of the foundations of special relativity, in particular the second postulate and the interpretation of the Michelson–Morley experiment. He is listed in ''[[The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists]]''.

==Ideas==
Nikolov has published an extensive body of work, dozens of papers, through the General Science Journal (gsjournal.net), a venue for dissident and alternative-physics writing. His papers deal with the Lorentz transformations, the Planck constant, quantum mechanics, and the analysis of classical optical experiments such as those of Sagnac, Fizeau, Bradley and Roemer.

Working from the Michelson–Morley experiment, Nikolov argues that the constancy of the speed of light should be understood as an ''average'' speed of a light signal travelling around a closed "going–returning" contour, a quantity he holds to be constant in all systems and directions, and he proposes this as the correct statement of the second postulate. He frames much of his reasoning around what he calls a "principle of opposites" in nature. These positions lie outside the mainstream understanding of special relativity.
