Between 2005 and 2010 Mitkovsky posted a series of papers to the General Science Journal, a self-publishing venue for heterodox scientific work. In "About One Mathematical Mistake and a Century of Errors in Physics" (2007) he claims to identify a mathematical error that he argues has propagated through a century of physics; the paper, which grew out of his study of the properties of radiation, was written in two parts and presented by the author as a definitive statement on the subject. In "The Relativity of Time and the Postulates of Special Relativity" (2005–2006) he challenges the postulates of special relativity.<br />

His other contributions to the same journal include "About Measurements," "The Physical Reasons for Changes in Climate," and mathematical notes such as "Reasoning Regarding Beal's Conjecture" and "The 'Last Riddle'."
