'''Alexander S. Krausz''' is a researcher and Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ottawa, known within materials science for work on deformation kinetics and fracture, and, later, for proposing a real-vector ("noncomplex") reformulation of quantum mechanics. He is listed in ''[[The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists]]''.

==Work==
In his mainstream career Krausz worked on the kinetics of deformation and fracture of solids. Independently of this, he and a co-author (K. Krausz) published a series of papers under the title "Vector Theory of Noncomplex Quantum Mechanics" in the journal ''Physics Essays'' beginning with volume 19, number 4 (December 2006), followed by a second part on the uncertainty principle.

The papers argue that the standard formalism of quantum mechanics, which relies on complex-valued wave functions and the imaginary unit, can instead be expressed using real-valued vector state functions. Krausz proposes that quantities such as the probability density, probability current, and the uncertainty relation can be recovered in this real-vector framework, reproducing results equivalent to the conventional Heisenberg condition. He presents this as an alternative interpretation of quantum theory rather than as a change to its empirical predictions. The proposal lies outside the mainstream complex-Hilbert-space formulation of quantum mechanics and was published in an alternative-physics journal.
