'''Bob Kurko''' (William R. Kurko) was an independent inventor from Cave Junction, Oregon, known for developing a fuel additive he called the E3 Ultra Clean Fuel Catalyst. He is listed in ''[[The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists]]'' in the "New Energy" category.

==Invention==
Working in his garage, Kurko formulated a liquid fuel additive that he claimed makes gasoline burn more completely, boosting fuel mileage and sharply reducing exhaust emissions. In a May 2008 report by Portland television station KATU, Kurko asserted that a treated engine could emit air cleaner than the ambient air drawn into it. Emissions testing described in that report was said to show greatly reduced hydrocarbons. He was granted U.S. Patent 8,070,838 ("Fuel additive and method for its manufacture and use"), filed in 2008.

Claims of large mileage gains and near-total emission elimination from fuel additives are viewed skeptically by the automotive-engineering mainstream, and Kurko's product was promoted largely outside conventional scientific channels.
