Create/expand category description

New page

This category collects work relating to '''Nikola Tesla''' (1856–1943) — his inventions, his physical ideas, and the substantial body of later research that builds on or reinterprets them.

Tesla occupies an unusual position in this literature. His mainstream achievements are beyond dispute: alternating current, the induction motor, the Tesla coil, polyphase power distribution. But his later claims — wireless power transmission through the earth, longitudinal or scalar electrical waves, a medium filling space, and his stated rejection of relativity and of the equivalence of matter and energy — were never accepted, and have become a foundation for a large body of independent research.

Entries here include analyses of the Wardenclyffe and Colorado Springs work, longitudinal and scalar wave theory, Tesla coil and resonance research, reinterpretations of his patents, and biographical and historical material. See also [[:Category:New Energy]] and [[:Category:Electromagnetism]].
