'''Edgar E. Escultura''' was a Filipino mathematician known for his self-styled "Grand Unified Theory" (GUT) and for controversial claims about the foundations of mathematics. He is listed in ''[[The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists]]''.

==Ideas==
Escultura argued that the axioms of the real number system are defective and internally inconsistent, and that formal logic is inapplicable to mathematics. On this basis he proposed a reconstructed "new real number system" built from the integers 0 and 1 using terminating decimals, together with what he called "qualitative mathematics." He claimed that these tools allowed him to resolve Fermat's Last Theorem and Goldbach's conjecture, positions that were rejected by the mainstream mathematical community; his purported disproof of Fermat's Last Theorem was widely criticized as erroneous.

Extending this framework beyond mathematics, Escultura developed a "Grand Unified Theory" that he presented as unifying gravity with the other fundamental forces. He published numerous papers on the GUT and on qualitative mathematics and modeling. His claims about the real number system, Fermat's Last Theorem, and unification are not accepted within mainstream mathematics or physics.
