Norman Silliman (born January 5, 1937) is an American computer programmer and independent researcher who has written on topics in physics and natural philosophy. He is an advocate of Aether physics, with interests spanning Gravity, the Fundamental Forces, Light, Interferometry, Gyroscopes, artificial vision, and global warming.
Biography
Silliman earned a degree in General Science from the University of Oregon in 1969, where he studied accounting, computer programming, and geology. He worked as a computer programmer for forty years, using three programming languages across four different machines. He began using e-mail in 1995 and wrote his own web page in 1998.
He has been married to JoAnn since 1964, and the couple have four grown children and one grandson. He resides in Nixon, Texas.
Work
Silliman describes himself as an advocate of Aether physics who does not hold a firm theory. He has written illustrated essays on a wide range of subjects, including the nature of light, magnetism, gyroscopic force, pushing gravity, robotic vision, global warming, Noah's Flood, and Michelson's aether-drift experiment.
He has expressed disappointment with the state of mainstream physics, noting that his long-held subscriptions to Scientific American and Science reported advances in applied engineering technology rather than fundamental breakthroughs in physics, and citing magnetic-confinement hot nuclear fusion as an example of a long-promoted goal that had not been realized.
