Causal Mechanics collects the work of the Soviet astronomer and astrophysicist Nikolai A Kozyrev on his theory of "causal" (or "asymmetric") mechanics and the physical properties of time.
Overview
Kozyrev proposed that time, in addition to duration, has active physical properties: it possesses a directionality ("the course of time") that distinguishes cause from effect and can transfer energy and rotation between bodies. From this "causal mechanics" — first presented in his 1958 monograph Causal or Asymmetric Mechanics in the Linear Approximation — he derived predictions that he tested with sensitive torsion-balance and gyroscope experiments, and which he connected to stellar energy generation and to anomalies in astronomical observation.
