Bruce Michael Joseph Peret (January 29, 1957 – February 3, 2020) was an American electrical engineer, computer scientist, and independent theoretical researcher who served as a researcher, secretary, and webmaster for the International Society of Unified Science (ISUS), an organization dedicated to the study and reevaluation of the Reciprocal System of physical theory originally formulated by Dewey Larson. He was widely known within that research community under the online names "LoneBear" and "--daniel."
Biography
Peret was born on January 29, 1957. He earned a double-major degree in electrical engineering and computer science, and electronics and computing remained his professional focus throughout his career. He was employed by technology firms including Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and Digital Equipment Corporation, working with clients such as AT&T, the Georgia Institute of Technology, The Weather Channel, and Siemens.
Beginning in the early 1990s, Peret pursued the study of Dewey Larson's Reciprocal System of physical theory, which became a lifelong parallel interest alongside his engineering work. He later served as Director of Research within the Reciprocal System community and remained the webmaster and curator of several websites associated with the theory.
Peret died on February 3, 2020.
Work
Peret published original papers in Reciprocity, the quarterly technical journal of the ISUS, including work on the application of polar Euclidean geometry to physical theory. In association with Prof. K. V. K. Nehru, he undertook a complete reevaluation of Larson's Reciprocal System, developing a revised formulation known as "RS2." His reworking of James Clerk Maxwell's approach to electrical theory drew on quaternion mathematics, contributing to a renewed interest in that mathematical framework within the community.
Beyond his theoretical research, Peret was associated with what he called the Sanctuary Project, an effort aimed at creating a community focused on learning, personal growth, and shared living.
