Ideas

In a letter to the editor, "Sur l'origine des champs pétroliers géants" (Annales de la Fondation Louis de Broglie, vol. 32-4, 2007), Deviau proposed that the magnetic monopoles theorized by Georges Lochak, understood as magnetically excited leptons streaming from the Sun and converging toward the Earth's poles, could drive nuclear transmutations within the crust and mantle. Deviau suggested that this process would produce hydrogen and other elements and lead to an accumulation of matter inside the planet, offering a mechanism for the disputed "expanding Earth" idea. The hypothesis is cited in the French Wikipedia article on Earth expansion and lies outside mainstream geophysics, which explains continental motion through plate tectonics.
