Introduction to Theoretical Physics is a 1967 book by the Indian theoretical physicist Kulesh Chandra Kar, published by the Institute of Theoretical Physics (Calcutta).

Overview

The book presents Kar's treatment of theoretical physics, including his own approach to the interaction of matter and radiation. Kar developed an alternative "theory of radiation" and a distinctive view of the foundations of quantum and statistical physics, which inform the exposition.

About the author

Kulesh Chandra Kar (1899–1975) was an eminent Indian theoretical physicist and teacher at Presidency College, Calcutta. In 1953 he founded the Calcutta Institute of Theoretical Physics and its quarterly Indian Journal of Theoretical Physics, creating a forum for discussion of new topics in physics and applied mathematics.
