Alexander Williams (Alex Williams) is a science writer associated with the young-earth creationist movement, best known as co-author, with physicist John Hartnett, of the book Dismantling the Big Bang: God's Universe Rediscovered (2005). He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Work
Williams holds a Master of Science degree in radioecology and a licentiate in theology, and has written for creationist organizations including Answers in Genesis and Creation Ministries International. In Dismantling the Big Bang, he and Hartnett argue against the standard Big Bang model of cosmology and advocate a biblically-based creation cosmology. Williams argues that modern cosmology has become dominated by secular assumptions and should be reinterpreted in the light of Scripture.
These positions reflect a religiously-motivated rejection of mainstream cosmology and are not accepted within the scientific community.
