David Leslie McNeight (born April 1938) is a British patent attorney based in Wilmslow, Cheshire, England, with a background in chemistry and interests in cosmology and philosophy.
Biography
McNeight is a British national who has spent his career in Wilmslow, Cheshire. Coming from a chemistry background, he became associated with the Society of Chemical Industry before moving into the field of intellectual property, where he worked for many years as a commercial patent attorney and patent agent. Over the course of his career he founded more than one patent practice and acted for numerous technology companies, several of which appointed him a director and shareholder. In 2014 he merged part of his sole practice into the firm TLIP, helping to establish its Manchester office and bringing in clients in areas including graphene, biofuels, medical devices, sensors, turf management and automotive technology.
Work
Alongside his professional work in patents and chemistry, McNeight has taken an interest in cosmology and philosophy, subjects for which he is listed among natural-philosophy contributors. His patent work spans a range of technical fields, and he is named as an inventor on patent applications covering areas such as product authentication and three-dimensional printing.
