Habib is an independent researcher based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Working outside the mainstream academic establishment, he has published his ideas on fundamental physics in book form, presenting them for public consideration.
Work
Habib's principal work is set out in his book The Real Theory of Everything (2023), in which he argues that the long-sought Theory of Everything has remained elusive because of a number of misconceptions that he identifies in contemporary fundamental physics. He states that a genuine Theory of Everything should explain what matter is and how it gives rise to the fundamental forces of nature, including gravity.
Among the propositions he advances are the following: that outer space is not an empty vacuum but is filled with a low-density elastic medium; that weight, or heaviness, is an intrinsic property of matter itself; that atoms are filled with elementary matter rather than being almost entirely empty space; and that stars, including the Sun, contain broadly the same range of elements found on Earth rather than being composed almost solely of hydrogen and helium.
Habib also disputes the standard account of gravity as either a Newtonian attractive force or the curvature of space-time described by general relativity, proposing instead an explanation for how a gravitational field forms around a celestial body. In addition, he challenges the nebular hypothesis of planetary formation, offering his own account of how planets and solar systems came into being, of their axial tilts and rotation, and of the relevance of Bode's law to the spacing of the planets.
