Hamilton Carter is an American physicist and physics researcher whose work spans condensed matter physics, superconductivity and magnetism, and theoretical calculations of vacuum (Casimir) energy and gravitational fields. He is the author of the science and amateur-radio blog "Copasetic Flow."
Biography
Carter pursued graduate study in physics, working in the United States in association with Texas A&M University and New Mexico State University. He is also an amateur radio operator (call sign KD0FNR). Through his "Copasetic Flow" blog he documents laboratory notebooks, physics and mathematics topics, programming, and radio experiments for a general audience.
Work
Carter's research interests include the physics of superconductivity and magnetism as well as theoretical studies of vacuum energy density and gravitational fields. Part of his experimental work has focused on testing J. E. Hirsch's theory of hole superconductivity, including searches for predicted radiation ("H-rays") emitted when a superconductor is quenched from its superconducting state by a strong magnetic field, using materials such as lead (Pb) and yttrium-barium-copper-oxide (YBCO).
