Abhishek Chakravartty is an independent researcher who has presented in the online seminar series of the John Chappell Natural Philosophy Society (CNPS). His CNPS presentation addresses the status of necessary truth — the question of whether a proposition that must always be true can nevertheless fail to appear true under rare circumstances. He is not to be confused with the philosopher of science Anjan Chakravartty, who is a different person.
Scientific contributions
In his 2023 CNPS seminar, "Situation Regarding Change in Necessary Truth", Chakravartty examines the notion of necessary truth: a truth which, by definition, always has to be a truth. His stated thesis is that such a truth "may not appear to be a truth in some rare cases."
