William "Bill" Orchard (March 1, 1942 – December 18, 2025) was an American addiction therapist and independent writer whose lifelong intellectual pursuits centered on the relationship between God, religion, and science. He explored questions of cosmology, the historical Jesus, and the JFK assassination.
Biography
Orchard was born on March 1, 1942, in Orange, New Jersey. He graduated from Blair Academy and served two years in the United States Army. He earned a degree in Religious Studies from Florida State University and a master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of South Alabama.
He worked as an addiction therapist for Mobile Mental Health and settled in Robertsdale, Alabama. Orchard died on December 18, 2025, at the age of 83.
Work
Orchard's writings reflected a sustained interest in the intersection of religion and science. His stated areas of inquiry included cosmology, the study of the historical Jesus, and the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The twelve steps were described as his spiritual path.
