William Mark Spann (born August 15, 1958) is an American independent researcher whose interests include the Electric Universe, Plasma Cosmology, the Aether, Catastrophism, and Planetary Science. He resides in Hueytown, Alabama.
Biography
Spann traces his interest in cosmology and catastrophism to 1975, when at the age of 16 his family moved to Decatur, Georgia, a few miles from the Fernbank Science Center. He spent a great deal of time at the center's planetarium events and among its science museum exhibits. Having become acquainted with the museum's curator, Spann asked for advice on a single topic that might serve for the History, Science, and Sociology term papers he had due that semester. The curator gave him a worn, yellowed paperback on the condition that he never reveal its source. Spann read the book within a few days; it was Immanuel Velikovsky's Worlds in Collision, which he credited with shaping his subsequent interest in catastrophist cosmology.
