Kenneth F. Wright (Ken Wright) is an American physicist and nuclear engineer, and a former United States Navy submarine officer. He is the author of the Nuclear Gravitation Field Theory, in which he argues that the strong nuclear force and gravity are one and the same force.

Biography

Wright graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1977, earning a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in physics and a commission as an Ensign in the United States Navy. He then entered the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, completing intensive training at the Naval Nuclear Power School in Orlando, Florida, and at the S1W Naval Nuclear Prototype Training Unit near Idaho Falls, Idaho, with an emphasis on the operation of the reactor, reactor coolant system, and steam plant aboard nuclear submarines.

Wright served for three and a half years as a Division Officer aboard the nuclear-powered submarine USS Flasher (SSN-613), a Permit-class stretched-hull submarine, where he qualified as Engineering Officer of the Watch, Officer of the Deck, and in Submarines. During this tour he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. He resigned his commission at the completion of his obligated service on June 30, 1982.

On July 19, 1982, Wright joined Southern California Edison as an engineer at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. In January 1984, after completing a training program and passing a Nuclear Regulatory Commission examination, he earned a Senior Reactor Operator's license on San Onofre Units 2 and 3. He was registered as a Professional Engineer in Nuclear Engineering in the State of California in February 1986 (License No. NU02322) and as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical Engineering in January 1993 (License No. M28662). In December 2000 he earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix in San Diego, California. He was later assigned to the San Onofre Nuclear Training Division as a training instructor for engineering personnel.

Scientific contributions

Wright is the author of the Nuclear Gravitation Field Theory, which proposes that the strong nuclear force and gravity are the same force. Drawing on quantum mechanics, Newton's law of gravity, and Einstein's general relativity, the theory argues that the strong nuclear force behaves as a gravitational field that propagates omnidirectionally from the atomic nucleus with spherical symmetry and a 1/r² intensity. Wright attributes the sharp drop in the strength of the strong nuclear force just outside the nucleus to extreme space-time compression, a general-relativistic effect that he argues can only arise from a gravitational field.

The theory further contends that proton and neutron energy levels in spherical nuclei fill in the same manner as electron energy levels, that increasing neutron-to-proton ratios in heavier nuclei reflect space-time compression within the nucleus, and that the radioactivity of elements heavier than bismuth-209 results from gravitational-field saturation. Wright suggests that, if a nuclear spectral line could be accessed and amplified in a linear direction to produce macroscopic space-time compression, gravity could in principle be amplified for propulsion, an application he describes as a "gravity warp drive." The ideas are self-published on his Gravity Warp Drive website and are not accepted within mainstream physics.
