Michael Claridge (also known as Michael Clarage) is an American physicist known for his work in astrophysics and biophysics and for his public lectures associating physics with philosophy and biology. He is a lead scientist with the SAFIRE Project and a frequent speaker for the Electric Universe community.
Biography
Claridge received his PhD in physics in 1992 from Brandeis University, working under Don Caspar and studying the biological and statistical behavior of proteins. Prior to his doctoral work, he spent several years studying binary pulsars with Joel Weisberg at the Arecibo radio telescope.
Together with his brother, he gave traveling lectures on their explorations in fractional calculus, fractals, and chaotic systems. He is self-published in philosophy and children's stories, both available through lulu.com.
Scientific contributions
Over a span of some fifteen years, Claridge has presented public lectures on topics that connect physical science with biology and philosophy, including relativity and dimensions, metaphysics in biology, transformation in supernovae, and metamorphosis in biology.
He is a lead scientist with the SAFIRE Project and a presenter for Space News from the Electric Universe. At the 2013 Electric Universe conference he delivered a talk titled "Our Universe—It's Electric!", presenting the Electric Universe as a cosmology that encompasses living beings as well as stars and galaxies.
