Steven Douglas Zins (born 1942) is an American physicist and computer scientist based in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He is known within the dissident-science community for his work on a unified field theory formulated in six spatial dimensions.
Biography
Zins earned a B.S. in Physics from Pennsylvania State University and subsequently undertook graduate work in mathematics and computer science. He resides in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Zins has been active in the alternative-physics community, presenting his research on the foundations of physics and examining experimental critiques of relativity, including the interferometer experiments of Dayton Miller.
Work
Zins has developed a unified field theory formulated in six spatial dimensions, based upon a six-dimensional elastic solid medium. In this framework, the observable three-dimensional Universe is represented as a traveling soliton wave that is torsional at its center, with the direction of propagation and the plane of torsional rotation oriented perpendicular to the three-dimensional Universe.
Within this model, Zins defines mass, charge, and Schrödinger's wave function in terms of the properties of the six-dimensional medium. From the elasticity theory of the six-dimensional medium he seeks to derive Newton's laws of motion, Maxwell's equations of electromagnetism, and Schrödinger's equation of quantum mechanics, presenting them as consequences of a single underlying elastic continuum rather than as independent physical laws.
