Work
Bolognesi is a longstanding critic of standard Big Bang cosmology and a proponent of the alternative, non-expanding-universe views associated with the astronomer Halton Arp. He translated Arp's book Seeing Red: Redshifts, Cosmology and Academic Science into Italian (Seeing Red. L'universo non si espande).
He has published numerous articles in the Italian journal Episteme, including pieces such as "La cosmologia del Big-Bang," "Il Big Bang ha fatto flop?" and "Cosmologia al bivio," in which he argues that the expanding-space model is inadequate and has, in his view, hindered decades of research into cosmic structure. He has described himself as an amateur scientist working in the same critical tradition as Arp.
