Fray's Light and Relativity: A New Hypothesis was published in hardcover by Nova Science Publishers (ISBN 1-56072-641-5). In it he questions the assumed symmetry of the one-way speed of light, proposing that experiments be carried out to measure the time a light ray takes to travel from a point A to a point B and back from B to A. He argues that any measured difference between the A-to-B and B-to-A transit times would require modifications to the Lorentz transformation equations and to Maxwell's equations. His hypothesis lies outside the mainstream framework of special relativity, in which the two-way constancy of the speed of light is a foundational postulate.
