Arend Lammertink is a Dutch electrical and embedded-software engineer (M.Sc.) known for his criticism of Einstein's theory of relativity and for an alternative "aether" interpretation of electromagnetism. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.

Ideas

Lammertink argues that space is filled with a superfluid-like medium (an aether) and that matter and electromagnetic waves are the same phenomenon, from which he concludes that Maxwell's field equations are incompletely formulated. On this basis he claims that the foundations of relativity theory collapse, publishing writings such as "Electrical Engineer disproves Einstein's Relativity Theory: The Ruins of 106 Years Relativity." He has also worked on interpretations of Nikola Tesla's technology. These positions lie outside the accepted physics mainstream, and he presents them chiefly through self-published articles and personal web platforms rather than peer-reviewed journals.
