Arthur Bolstein is the author of a book-length critique of Albert Einstein's theory of relativity. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.

Work

Bolstein wrote An Ordinary Failure of an Extraordinary Theory (Protea Publishing, 2001), in which he argues that the special theory of relativity is internally inconsistent. He has stated that Einstein's mathematical formulas "equate properly" but are "objectively illogical," and his arguments center on the claims that simultaneity is preserved under inertial motion and that relativistic time dilation does not follow. These positions run counter to the accepted physics of special relativity.

His work has drawn critical attention: in 1999 the Czech skeptics' association Sisyfos gave Bolstein its "Bludný balvan" ("Erratic Boulder") anti-award, and reviewers of his book have disputed his reasoning.
