Society for Interdisciplinary Studies
Moore, a retired senior librarian, co-founded the SIS in 1974 together with Euan MacKie, Martin Sieff and Harold Tresman. Within the society he held a number of roles, serving as Librarian and Information Officer from 1975, as an Editorial Associate and then Review Editor of the SIS Review during the late 1970s and early 1980s, and later as Chairman and Secretary. His involvement grew out of an interest in the scientific controversy surrounding Velikovsky's catastrophist theories, which the SIS was formed to examine. The society's revisionist approach to chronology and catastrophism lies outside the scientific and historical mainstream.
