Chifu Ebenezer Ndikilar is a Nigerian theoretical physicist known for his work reformulating gravitational field equations for spherical, spheroidal and conical mass distributions. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Work
Ndikilar works in general relativity and its applications to astrophysics and cosmology. Much of his research follows the tradition of the Nigerian school of gravitational physics associated with S. X. K. Howusu, using a "golden metric tensor" formalism to derive gravitational field equations exterior and interior to various idealized mass distributions. He has published derivations of the field equations exterior to rotating homogeneous spherical masses, exterior to homogeneous spheroidal (prolate and oblate) masses, and for conical mass distributions, in each case reducing the equations to a single unknown function determined by the mass or pressure distribution.
The entry in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists cites his 2009 Physics Essays paper (vol. 22, no. 1, p. 73) on gravitational radiation and the propagation field equation exterior to time-varying mass distributions within regions of spherical geometry.
