Corneliu Baneasa (full name Corneliu Birtok-Băneasă) is a Romanian engineer and inventor known for a "super-aspirating", or high-suction, automotive air filter. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.

Work

Birtok-Băneasă, from Deva in Hunedoara County, is associated with the Hunedoara Faculty of Engineering (University of Petroșani). He is known for developing a high-suction automotive air filter, also described as a "dynamic device for air transfer", which he patented in Romania (for example RO126019 and RO125034). He claims the device increases intake air flow, pre-cools incoming air, reduces fuel consumption by roughly 10–20% in urban traffic, and raises engine power. The invention received awards at international invention exhibitions, including gold medals at Eureka Brussels and the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. His fuel-economy figures are drawn from promotional and invention-fair results and have not been independently validated in peer-reviewed testing.
