Douglas L. Konzen is an independent inventor and experimenter, based in the Seattle area, known within the "new energy" community for the Konzen pulse motor (sometimes styled the "Konehead" motor). He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Work
Konzen develops permanent-magnet and electromagnetic pulse motors that he claims can operate at high efficiency or "overunity" (output exceeding input). His designs draw on the pulse-motor and capacitor-discharge concepts associated with earlier free-energy inventors E. V. Gray, Robert Adams, and John Bedini, and he has experimented with low-voltage colliding-coil and hybrid configurations. He is named as an inventor on a United States patent for a series resonant capacitive discharge motor (US 7,215,097).
Claims of overunity operation conflict with the conservation of energy and are not accepted by mainstream physics or engineering. Konzen's work is documented on free-energy sites such as KeelyNet and in online experimenter forums.
