Emanuel Smejkal is an independent researcher and author known for a series of alternative papers on relativity, the speed of light and cosmology. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Work
Smejkal has published several papers through the General Science Journal between 2003 and 2008. His central proposal is a "Theory of Dual Relativity" (2003), which he develops further in "Speed of Light: From Inertial Frame to New EI-Ether" (2006). In this work he argues for replacing the classical luminiferous aether with what he calls an "El-ether," whose essential properties he describes as speed and un-homogeneity, and which he associates with the flow of electric induction and the charge of the electron.
His other papers address cosmology, including "Cosmic Microwave Background & Hubble's Law" (2004) and a "Proposed Experiment with Spectral Lines of Binary Stars" (2004), as well as a more philosophical piece, "Does Science Warn Us Against Its Own Authority?" (2008). These ideas lie outside the scientific mainstream.
