Ernest L. Petrov (Ernest Leonidovich Petrov) is a researcher known as the co-author, with Alexey Shlienov, of an alternative "Unified Field Theory." He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.

Work

Petrov collaborated with Alexey Shlienov on a unified field theory presented as a framework from which astrophysical (gravitational) and microphysical (nuclear) constants, and also certain biological constants, could be calculated. The ideas connecting the microcosm, the universe and life are set out in Shlienov's 1998 work Microcosm, Universe, Life, which credits the underlying unified field theory jointly to Shlienov and Petrov. These proposals lie outside the scientific mainstream.
