Nikolai Bouianov is a Canada-based independent researcher and critic of modern theoretical physics who resides in King, Ontario, in the Greater Toronto Area. He is a member of the John Chappell Natural Philosophy Society and maintains the website sci-phy.ca, on which he publishes critical analyses of established physical theory, particularly the work of Einstein on relativity.

Biography

Bouianov works outside the mainstream academic community as an independent author. Through his website sci-phy.ca, he presents what he describes as a common-sense and logic-based approach to physics, stating an intention to "separate the physics fact from the science phyction." His listed interests include physics, relativity, and electricity.

Work

Bouianov's writings offer critical reviews of a range of topics in modern physics. In the area of relativity, he has authored line-by-line critiques of Einstein's papers, including "Einstein Revised," which examines the derivation of the mass-energy relationship, and "The BASICS of Special Relativity Theory," a review of Einstein's 1905 paper "On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies." He has also written on the twin paradox, time dilation, the Lorentz transformation, and the concept of curved spacetime in "The Mystery of Curved Space."

Beyond relativity, his articles address topics in electromagnetism (including the nature of electric current and the question of free electrons in metals), thermodynamics (entropy, latent heat, and the laws of thermodynamics), quantum physics (the Schrödinger equation and black-body radiation), gravitation, and the physics of the greenhouse effect and climate. Several of his papers have been made available through the General Science Journal.
