Abstract

Wind energy has come a long way from the first wind farms in the hills of California. What was once a small group of forward thinking innovators concerned about domestic energy supply has grown into a worldwide industry delivering sustainable power to meet the needs of millions of people. Wind energy has been the world's fastest growing energy source in the 1990s. While it provides a secure, indigenous, non-polluting power source, wind is adding thousands of jobs to the global economy.
