Template:Wikidata image

This template is intentionally disabled on the Natural Philosophy Wiki. It outputs nothing.

Why

This template was imported from Wikipedia, where its only job is to add tracking categories such as Category:No local image but image on Wikidata to articles that have no local image but whose Wikidata item has one (property P18).

This wiki does not have the Wikibase / Wikidata client extension installed, so {{#property:P18}} is not a valid parser function. Instead of returning an image (or nothing), it returned the literal text {{#property:P18}}, which is non-empty. That made the "does Wikidata have an image?" test always true, so every main-namespace article using Template:Infobox person / Template:Infobox scientist with an empty image parameter was incorrectly filed into that category — about 2,075 pages.

Since there is no Wikidata connection here, no image could ever actually be pulled, so the category carried no useful information. Every other branch of the original template already produced empty output, so disabling it changes nothing else.

Restoring

The original Wikipedia version is preserved in this page's history. If Wikibase/Wikidata support is ever added to this wiki, restore it from there.
