Gravitation, Time and Einstein is a 1926 pamphlet by the astronomer Charles Lane Poor, continuing his critique of Einstein's theory of relativity.
Overview
Drawing on his expertise in celestial mechanics, Poor challenges the treatment of gravitation and time in general relativity and disputes the observational evidence — especially the advance of Mercury's perihelion — usually cited in its favour. It is a companion to his Time and Relativity and his book Gravitation versus Relativity (1922).
About the author
Charles Lane Poor (1866–1951) was an American astronomer and professor of celestial mechanics at Columbia University, and one of the most prominent American scientific critics of relativity in the 1920s.
