Edwin Eugene Klingman is an American physicist and author known for his work on a self-interacting gravitomagnetic "C-field" and for a long series of essays submitted to the Foundational Questions Institute (FQXi). He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.

Background

Klingman earned a PhD in physics and worked as a research physicist in atomic and molecular physics. His doctoral work was later published as The Automatic Theory of Physics, which describes how a robot might derive a theory of physics from pattern recognition and entropy.

Ideas

Klingman argues for a gravitomagnetic field, which he calls the "C-field," treated as a continuous field filling space everywhere. He proposes that the C-field associated with massive rotating black holes offers a simpler account of the light-years-long astrophysical jets than magnetic-field explanations. In his FQXi essays he also questions foundational assumptions of quantum mechanics, including aspects of Bell's theorem, and explores the nature of time, information and consciousness. These positions lie outside the accepted mainstream of physics.
