Paul V. Sheridan is an American engineer, automotive-safety analyst, and independent researcher based in Dearborn, Michigan. Trained in the physical sciences, he spent much of his professional career in the automobile industry before becoming a prominent automotive-safety whistleblower and expert witness. He is also associated with the Electric Universe and Plasma Cosmology community of alternative cosmology.
Biography
Sheridan holds a Bachelor of Science degree with concentrations in physics, mathematics, and computer science, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Cornell University. He operates DDM Consulting in Dearborn, Michigan, through which he works on transportation safety and efficiency.
For roughly a decade, Sheridan was employed by Chrysler Corporation, where he led the original prototype development of the Dodge–Cummins diesel pickup truck and subsequently designed and managed the engineering programs for that product. He later chaired the safety team on an all-new minivan program during the tenure of Chrysler chief executive Bob Eaton.
Work
Since 1994, Sheridan has been active as an automotive-safety advocate and whistleblower. He alleged that Chrysler concealed minivan defects from federal regulators, and he pursued a claim against the company under Michigan's Whistleblower Protection Act. The company terminated his employment and filed suit against him; the resulting disputes were litigated in the Michigan courts. In subsequent years he has served as a paid expert witness for plaintiffs' attorneys in litigation involving 1993–2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles and crash-related fires. His consulting practice has increasingly concentrated on the safety and efficiency of electric mobility.
Outside of his engineering work, Sheridan is listed among contributors associated with the Electric Universe and Plasma Cosmology models, which propose that electromagnetic forces and large-scale plasma phenomena play a central role in cosmology.
