Abstract

A paradox involving mass-energy conservation is described. It is shown that in certain situations, output power is not equal to input power in some inertial reference frames if the relativistic velocity-transformation law and some other aspects of relativity theory are valid. Thus some aspects of relativity theory are not compatible with the conservation of mass-energy. A related paradox involving momentum conservation is briefly discussed.
