Luiz has degree in Physics from the University of S?o Paulo (1973), graduate degree in Physics at the University of S?o Paulo (1976), Master in Physics from the University of S?o Paulo (1976), Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of S?o Paulo (1989) and post-doctorate from the University of Cambridge (1992). He is currently Associate Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Reviewer of the journal Science and Education (UNESP), Reviewer of the regular test. Research in Education in Science, Member of editorial board of Latin American Journal of Education in Astronomy and Project Coordinator of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development. Has experience in anthropology, with emphasis in Astronomy and Cultural Anthropology. Working primarily in the following area: extra-galactic jets, radio sources, magnetic field.
