The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists: Critics and Alternative Theories is a reference directory compiled by the French engineer Jean de Climont and published by Christian Sutterlin's house Éditions d'Assailly (Assailly Publishing). It is the most extensive catalogue of its kind, listing several thousand scientists, engineers, and physicians who dispute — or offer alternatives to — mainstream positions in physics, especially relativity, quantum mechanics, and cosmology. For a community devoted to documenting science outside the mainstream, it serves as a broad census of the dissident world.
Scope and content
The directory gathers together roughly forty pre-existing dissident lists from around the world and consolidates them into a single reference. Each entry typically records the person's name, a home-page address or contact, and a short note on the ideas or theories they advance. The word "dissident" is used in a broad sense: the list includes both those who work within the relativity–quantum-mechanics framework while proposing not-yet-accepted ideas, and those who oppose parts of those theories outright. Across the collected entries, well over a thousand distinct theories are represented.
The November 2015 edition was announced as holding nearly 8,000 names, with most links updated, many new entries and email addresses added, and duplicate or information-less names removed. Later editions continued to expand and correct the roster. The work is published as a book-length HTML directory (also available through Google Books) and in PDF form.
Publication
The list has appeared in successive editions over several years. The 2016 edition was issued by Éditions d'Assailly under ISBN 978-2-9024-2517-4. The publisher, Christian Sutterlin, also issues de Climont's other titles. The directory is copyrighted; de Climont has permitted downloading for personal use.
Significance
The list is frequently cited as evidence of the scale of scientific dissent — that opposition to, and alternatives for, established theory are held not by a handful of isolated individuals but by a large, international body of qualified people. In that respect it complements the systematic catalogues of critical works documented elsewhere on this wiki (such as the G O Mueller survey of relativity criticism) by instead cataloguing the people. It stands alongside the biographical and bibliographic records maintained by the John Chappell Natural Philosophy Society.
Availability and preservation
The original publisher website (editionsassailly.com) is no longer active, and the domain has since lapsed. Copies of the directory circulate on academic document-sharing platforms — including the author's own uploads on Academia.edu and on ResearchGate — and the book is listed on Google Books. Because the compiler is now of advanced age and the primary distribution channels have gone offline, a stable copy is preserved directly on this wiki.
Preserved copies on this wiki
Because the original publisher website and the compiler's own sites are no longer active, the directory is archived here in full. The complete directory below is the primary preservation copy; it is also provided split into four smaller parts for convenience.

Index of listed people
An alphabetical index of the people catalogued in the directory is maintained at Index of the Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists. People who already have a page on this wiki are also collected automatically in Category:Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists (currently about 1,970 pages); the index additionally lists the several thousand people who are named in the directory but do not yet have a page here.
