Work
Consciousness, Physics, and the Holographic Paradigm is a long-form, self-published online treatise developed over roughly a decade (copyright dates 2001–2011). Drawing on the "holographic paradigm" associated with Karl Pribram, David Bohm, and Fritjof Capra, Williams argues that the mind/brain complex functions as a hologram that both perceives and participates in a holographic universe, and posits an "energetic primordial medium" as the foundation of physical reality. He proposes what he calls "conditional relativity" as an alternative to conventional relativity. The work is organised into sections titled "Sneaking Up On Einstein" and "Conditional Relativity," and is accompanied by a set of poems. He discussed these ideas at least as early as 1998 on the bionet neuroscience mailing list. These proposals lie outside mainstream physics and neuroscience.
