Alex Chiu is an inventor and businessman best known for marketing the "Immortality Rings" (also called Eternal Life Devices), a set of magnets worn on the fingers and toes that he claims can make the human body immortal. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Ideas
On his website, Chiu also promotes an alternative theory of gravity and geophysics. He proposes that the Earth's core rotates faster than its surface, and that the resulting friction generates the planet's internal heat and volcanic activity. He further argues that this rubbing leaves the core strongly negatively charged, and that this charge is what attracts objects toward the Earth, offering it as his explanation for gravity. These claims lie well outside mainstream geophysics and physics, where the Earth's internal heat is attributed chiefly to radioactive decay and residual accretional heat, and gravity is described by mass-energy rather than electric charge.
Chiu is widely known as an internet personality, and his health and immortality claims have not been supported by scientific testing.
